NEW ENGINE at 217k miles (53K miles driven)
NEW TRANSMISSION at 153k miles (115K miles driven)
Selling my 1998 GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab 4x4. This has been a family truck since 2000, and it has been very well taken care of over the years.
The truck currently has approximately 270,000 miles, but two of the biggest mechanical concerns on an older truck have already been addressed:
Jasper rebuilt engine installed at 217,000 miles - approximately 53,000 miles on the replacement engine
Transmission rebuilt at 153,000 miles
Runs and drives great
Starts easily and runs strong
4x4
Extended cab
Automatic transmission
Power windows/locks
Cold A/C
Good tires with plenty of tread
Bedliner
Tonneau bed cover
Factory alloy wheels
Clean, original interior
Rear sliding window
Tow hitch
The interior is actually in really good shape for a truck of this age. The seats, carpet and headliner have held up very well, and the truck has clearly been cared for.
Cosmetically, it is not perfect. The paint has some peeling/oxidation, scratches and areas where it could use some attention, particularly on the hood and around parts of the body. There are also some normal dents and wear consistent with a 28-year-old truck. I've included plenty of pictures so you can see exactly what you're getting.
That said, the important part is that this truck runs and drives very well, and it has had a lot of its major mechanical components taken care of. It's been in our family for over 25 years, so I'm not looking to hide anything about it.
This would make a great work truck, hunting/fishing truck, winter truck, or project truck for someone who appreciates these older GMCs.
