2004 Mercedes-Benz S430 – Luxury Daily Driver (Driveable, PRICED TO SELL)
Asking $1,499 or best offer!
As a broke college student, I just don't have the cash flow to give this car the love it deserves for some cosmetic and minor mechanical repairs. BUT this is a genuinely fantastic, high-end luxury ride that runs smoothly and is fully driveable today—I’ve used it as my daily driver for the last three years.
If everything were fully restored, a car like this would easily go for $4,500-$5,500 . I have discounted the price SIGNIFICANTLY to offset the cost of future repairs and still give you a good deal. With 170k miles, the engine and transmission still have plenty of life left for anyone willing to put a little love into it.
I REALLY need to get this baby a new home so I will do my best to be as transparent as possible!
THE GOOD
-Silk smooth 4.3L V8 engine. The engine is in good shape and delivers reliable power and effortless highway cruising with a refined 7-speed automatic transmission with an optional sports mode for manually shifting. This car is pretty fast and so much fun to drive.
-AIRMATIC Air Suspension provides an exceptionally plush, smooth ride with adjustable ride height and adaptive damping for maximum comfort.
-Easy to use dashboard control center that includes GPS navigation, premium audio controls, hands-free phone integration, steering wheel control mapping, and built-in vehicle diagnostic menus.
-This car is BEAUTIFUL and so so comfortable. Timeless luxury interior loaded with premium leather seating, real wood trim, power-adjustable front seats with memory settings, and dual-zone automatic climate control. It also has a motorized sun roof, a shade for the rear windshield, reading lights for all seats, and mechanical soft close doors & trunk.
-Premium Bose Sound System that offers clear, rich audio engineered specifically for the S-Class cabin acoustic design.
-Safety features! Built with all Mercedes-Benz engineering standards, including Electronic Stability Program (ESP), multiple airbags, and exceptional crash safety design.
THE BAD
-Currently no AC. The AC compressor clutch is broken and it is recommended that the compressor be replaced.
-A ball joint under the front driver’s side tire has some play and it is recommended that it be replaced as well.
-These are the only larger issues with this car, but I have a full inspection report from Clegg Auto in Provo available upon request 👍
THE UGLY
-Front-End Body Damage. The car was in a minor front-end accident resulting in cosmetic damage to the front bumper, hood, and passenger-side headlight housing. The plastic grille and outer headlight trim were removed, but all lights and turn signals remain 100% operational.
-Hood Latch Mechanism. The inner metal frame behind the headlight and the front latch support were slightly bent in the accident. Because of this, the secondary hood latches do not line up, so the hood is secured by the main front hook. The front latch bar is currently reinforced with industrial-strength zip ties. While this should eventually be properly straightened/repaired, I have been regularly driving this car at 80 MPH on the freeway (including long trips up to Idaho) with zero issues. The hood is secure and this car is completely safe to drive even at higher speeds.
-Small dent and scratches on the driver’s side doors caused by another car backing out while this car was stationary.
IN SHORT
This is a beautiful luxury flagship sedan that drives great and gets you where you need to go today. Perfect project or reliable daily for a DIY mechanic or someone looking for an affordable luxury car with solid bones. Clean title in hand. Cash or Venmo preferred.
