2007 Jeep Compass — Mechanics Special / Project Car

Selling my 2007 Jeep Compass as a mechanics special/project vehicle. It runs and drives, but it needs some mechanical work and is being sold as-is.

Main issues:

• Currently stuck in 4-wheel drive

• Exhaust leak is getting into the vents. Likely needs an exhaust manifold gasket and/or the manifold bolts tightened/repaired

• Uses some oil and coolant — typically needs them topped off about every 2 months of driving

• A/C works, but only blows somewhat cool

• This one needs a mechanic to finish it up, if you know your way around a wrench.

Good things:

• Tires are nearly brand new — approximately 3,000–5,000 miles on them

• Coolant temperature has always been good. It has never gone past the middle of the temperature gauge during my ownership

• Heater works

• Drive it a bit and it'll pass emissions no problem

• Have the key and title, ready to go.

Top 2 maintenance items:

1. Fix the 4-wheel-drive system

2. Repair the exhaust manifold/exhaust leak

Other maintenance Items

-change rear differential fluid, hasn't been changed during the 5-7 years I've owned it, though the front differential fluid has been changed

Good candidate for someone who works on their own vehicles, wants a project, or needs a vehicle to repair and keep.

$1,750 OBO. Willing to negotiate more with a mechanic or someone who understands the work it needs.
