This is my 1997 Ford F-250HD 4x4 7.3 Powerstroke. This is set up just like an F-350, just as an F-250 body and frame. I bought this truck a little over a year ago and have loved it since it was my dream truck. The truck has ZERO rust besides where the previous owner ripped off the trim. The reason I am selling it is I am going to college and a mission and don’t have the room to store it while I’m gone.
This truck started as a normal F-250 but the previous owner put a Ford Dana 60 axle under it as well as the ZF5 manual transmission.
Pros:
ZF5 manual transmission
Dana 60 front axle
Visor
Flatbed
Hydra tuner
Bluetooth radio
F-350 springs all the way around
MAXXIS RAZOR LT315/75R16 tires
Train horn
Column gauges
Cons:
Oil leak (like every other 7.3 out there, they just like to make their territory)
Clear coat peeling
Old glow plugs
Besides that the truck has been awesome. The transmission was rebuilt in November so it is fresh and ready to go. Around that same time, I threw a visor and cab lights on the truck which look amazing. I always plugged in the truck when it was colder than 60 outside cause any colder than that it won’t start. It needs new glow plugs but when it’s plugged in, it fires right up no problem. The tuner has 8 settings to it (see last pictures). There is some damage to the cab and fender but the previous owner said it was from a gooseneck trailer but it doesn’t affect it at all. I get asked how it rides and my response is the same every time, just like riding a kayak down the stairs. It’s about the same with steering, it’s gotten better but sometimes it feels like it has a suggestion circle instead of a steering wheel, we’ve replaced everything except the steering box so that is something that could be upgraded. Besides that the truck is amazing, if I had more money I would throw an inter cooler on it but I didn’t have the time or money to do that. It tows great, the only thing holding it back is the EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature). It has plenty of power to pull anything, I just never pushed it up to the 1,200 degrees to risk engine damage, but if you keep a lower gear and slower speeds, tows great. If you have any questions feel free to reach out. I have the truck listed for $9,500 obo.
