1987 325is E30
Salt Lake City, Utah
The time has come for our beloved, and rare, BMW 325is to find a new home. This iconic car has been a joy to drive and own over the years, but we simply don't have the time or energy to love it as much as it deserves. Runs really well, a beauty to see, and almost too much fun to be had in a little two-door sedan. Looking for a new owner who will appreciate the heritage.
If you don't know about the 325is, google what Car and Driver had to say about it: "If I could sing like the engine in the new BMW 325is, I'd pack Carnegie Hall for weeks." —Arthur St. Antoine, C/D, August 1987. This car still has that feeling.
This is the 3rd vehicle in a 2 driver family, and has only been driven occasionally since we got it in 2004. We’ve kept it garaged, but running and maintained by excellent mechanics. No modifications.
We bought it with 165,000 miles on it. The odometer stopped working at 168,218. Current mileage is estimated at under 175,000.
We have a fairly complete list of service/repairs done on the car and a recent Carfax report. It passed the emissions inspection in August of 2023. We're happy to share that information with you.
Known issues:
Needs new struts - noticeable at higher speeds
ABS warning light on
Slow oil leak
Some scratches on passenger sides, a few door dings, and some slight dents in the front right quarter panel
Previous owner painted it, but skipped the sunroof (which works). That needs paint.
Passenger window doesn’t fully close (½ inch open at top)
Glove box doesn’t open
Antenna broken off
No remote, have to use the trunk to lock or unlock from the outside.
