This is an extremely rare Cougar! The XR is very hard to find in the 99-02 model years. I have had the car completely repainted and reupholstered in black leather. The car runs well for the amount of miles it has. The sunroof gets stuck and I’ve attempted to have it fixed many times to no avail. The power windows work but can be finicky. The car has a check engine light on that has been on in all the years I’ve had it but it does not prevent it from passing emissions. Lastly, the suspension is worn but I didn’t have time to replace it. It drives just fine but is louder than a new suspension. This car is 22 years old so it’s not perfect, but it’s been fun and would be a great first car for a teen. The price is firm considering you will not find another Cougar anywhere near this good of shape and that it’s an XR (which pretty much is impossible to find). I love this car and have been working to restore it over the years but due to recent unexpected bills I have to sell it to pay them off. I’ve put about $3,000 into the car in paint, body work, and leather upholstery that were all professionally done.
