Meet Bertha! A 2003 Buick Century with 181,000 miles.
This car has been a very reliable vehicle for my family over the past 15 years, driven first by my parents and then by me. Bertha, as I like to call her, received regular maintenance, tire rotations, safety checks, etc. Her exterior has some scratches, dents, and dings, but her interior is in good condition. She drives well, but she is 20 years old which means that a few things aren't working as well as they used to. I've loved driving her, but it was time for an upgrade. She would be the perfect starter vehicle for a high-schooler, or a great car for someone to drive around town.
Kelly Blue Book has her valued at $1201, and that is my asking price. Best offers will be considered after this listing is up for a week. Below I've listed some of Bertha's pros and cons (all of which I've factored into the price):
Pros:
- Clean title.
- No smoking and no pets.
- She is a tank--sturdy, reliable, and safe.
- She has the comfiest seats you'll find. It feels like you are sitting on a couch.
- The seats are in great condition with no stains or tears.
- She seats six, with seatbelts!
- AC and heat are working perfectly.
- USB-compatible radio to charge and play music from your phone. Plus she has great speakers and bass!
- Comes with two functioning fobs, two ignition keys, and one entry key.
- The battery was replaced in fall 2022, so it is less than two years old.
- Solid engine that can easily get up to 85 mph on the freeway.
- 15-gallon gas tank.
- Spacious trunk.
- Tires from Les Swchabb still have a lot of tread (see photos).
- Automatic windows, entry, and headlights.
- Windshield wipers were replaced within the last year.
Cons:
- The dashboard digital display has some faulty connections: the mileage and gear display, gas gauge, and service lights are all impacted (this should be an easy fix for a mechanic or someone good at following YouTube tutorials).
- Several exterior cosmetic flaws (see pictures).
- The rear driver window does not work.
- The cigarette lighter has been disconnected (but the original wiring is in place for someone who wants to reconnect it).
