Rare Collectible Vintage Camper Van in immaculate condition. The Astro Tiger is a legend in the compact camper van world. It hurts us to have to sell this van but we just need something a little more practical as our second vehicle. Get this beauty just in time for the gorgeous Utah Spring and Summertime!
The pop top drops the roof two feet when driving for less wind resistance, and low clearance. With the top down the van is only 7 feet tall and 17’ long from bumper to bumper. Easily fits a family of four. There is a double bed over the cab and the table converts to a bed for two smaller people.
Although this specific Astro is only 2WD it has proven to be very capable in getting us to where we needed to go.
We have been on countless incredible journeys with this van and it has been nothing but reliable! It has always started up and ran smoothly without any issues. It would be fun for a solo traveler, couple, or small family. Has very low miles at only 89,400 miles.
Has two large deep cycle batteries that power the van and a 3000 Watt inverter. Also has a new engine battery.
It has airbags installed over the back axle for a smoother ride and handling weight. Maxxis radial tires are barely worn.
There are a couple funky issues as this is an older vehicle so I'm going to list them here:
The canvas for the pop top is getting old. Its cracking in places and the seams for the windows are starting to unravel. However, It has not been an issue in our time of ownership.
The gas struts that help lift the roof on the front two sides will need to be relocated as they push the roof back a couple inches back when installed (just never got around to relacating them).
Here is a list of features and things that work!
2 x Group27 Marine/RV Interstate Deep Cycle batteries
Solar panel, 200w. (has always kept the batterties fully charged)
3000w inverter
switch for shore power vs. Inverter
Noco Genius G2700 charger for power system.
Barely used Maxxis Radial 751 A/T Tires, probably 6 years old.
Operational original Propane heating system
Propane range
Auto switching AC/DC/Gas refrigerator works great.
water tank, perhaps 20-30 gallons?
Electric water pump for faucet in sink
Ceiling fan/vent.
Holds 5 gallon propane.
Custom gas struts mounted to four corners of pop top for ease in lifting the pop top. (Fronts are removed in the pictures due to the roof allignment issue)
Kuat Bike Rack and Saris Swivel hitch will be included with full price offer or for $500 extra if wanted (with less than full price offer)
$18,000 OBO
