4 reasons the new Kia K4 is a fantastic value buy
Discussed in this article
The compact sedan segment may not get the attention of the SUV crowd, but Kia doesn’t care. It makes its sedans just as cool as their excellent SUVs. The all-new 2025 Kia K4 replaces the Forte with a bolder design, improved tech and a surprising level of refinement — all without blowing your budget.
You can get a nearly fully loaded K4 EX for under $30,000. That’s not just good — it’s excellent, especially in today’s market. Here are the top four reasons why the 2025 Kia K4 is one of the best value buys on the market today.

Bold design that feels and looks premium
You don’t expect a car in this price range to turn heads, but the K4 does. Its sleek, fastback inspired silhouette, futuristic LED lighting and sharp character lines make it look like it belongs in a higher class of sedans.
Kia’s design team took some risks here, and we think they pay off. The K4 feels more like a baby EV6 than a replacement for the Forte, and that alone sets it apart from more conservative looking rivals.

Luxury-level tech and features
How often do you see a car under $30,000 that comes with dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital key, ventilated seats and a premium Harman Kardon sound system? Not very often. But in the K4 GT-Line, you get all of that, and more.
Even driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, highway driving assist and forward collision avoidance are standard or available depending on trim. The K4 is tech-savvy, forward thinking and doesn’t make you pay extra for a long list of standard features.
Comfortable, modern and upscale cabin
Step inside the K4 and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The interior design borrows from Kia’s more expensive models with clean lines, soft touch materials and thoughtful details such as ambient lighting and a two-tone color scheme.

The seats are supportive and the cabin is surprisingly spacious for a compact sedan. Even rear seat passengers get more legroom than you’d expect. In short, the K4’s interior feels far more refined than the outgoing Forte and is arguably better than some pricier competitors.
Efficient and easy to live with
Whether you choose the standard 2.0-liter engine or the turbocharged 1.6-liter in the GT-Line Turbo, the K4 remains fuel-efficient. Depending on configuration, expected mileage is in the 30-40 mpg range. We averaged in the high 30 mpg range in our week of testing the base, 2.0-liter engine. Given the extra oomph of the 1.6-liter in the GT-Line Turbo trim, we’d probably opt for that.
Add in Kia’s excellent 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and 5-year/60,000-mile limited basic warranty, and you have a car that’s not just affordable to buy, but affordable to own long-term.

Final thoughts
The 2025 Kia K4 is proof that you don’t have to spend luxury money to get a car that feels premium, looks sharp and comes loaded with features. It’s an ideal pick for first-time buyers, young professionals or anyone looking for a stylish and sensible daily driver that won’t break the bank.
For those who thought the compact sedan was a dying breed, Kia’s latest offering just might change your mind.
