Win a free car from local YouTuber The Burlacher
Discussed in this article
Could you use a free car? This could be your lucky day! Local YouTuber Nick Burlacher bought a 1996 Ford Mustang on KSL Cars and he’s giving it away for free. That’s right, it’ll cost you nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada.
The giveaway happens at the Cars and Coffee Utah car show on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025. Stop by The Shops at South Town from 9-11 a.m. to check out hundreds of cool cars owned by local enthusiasts, and maybe go home with a slick ride of your own. Cars and Coffee is free to attend and is a family friendly space for all car enthusiasts.
How to enter Burlacher’s giveaway
Entering The Burlacher’s car giveaway is easy. Attend the event to get a QR code to put your name in the drawing. Entrants must be at least 18, and they must be present to both enter and claim the prize.
Entries will close promptly at 10:30 a.m., and a winner will be chosen shortly thereafter. “We’ll announce the winner, sign over the paperwork, give them the keys and off they go,” Burlacher said.
Not only can you win a car, it’s your chance for a little internet fame. Burlacher will be recording the day’s events — including the drive off — for his popular YouTube channel. But if you’re camera shy, he said he is willing to blur faces.

Why host a giveaway?
Burlacher said the car giveaway is a fun way for him to do charity work. He tried to give one away three years ago, and even bought a car. But it didn’t work out logistically, and he ended up selling it and donating the cash to a high school student experiencing financial hardship. It was rewarding, he said, but the idea of giving away an actual car stuck with him.
“I’ve always had in mind, how do I give a car? Because I’m into cars,” Burlacher said. “I thought this little drawing would be a fun way to do it.”
Come for the cars, leave with a Mustang
Burlacher’s giveaway car of choice shouldn’t come as a surprise to those who follow the local YouTuber. “I’m a Mustang guy at heart, my dad’s a mustang guy, so our roots are in Ford Mustangs,” he said.
On Saturday, he’s giving away a manual drive, 1996 5-speed, two-door coupe. “I wanted to do a car that was fun — but still affordable for me to be able to buy and just give away.”
He shopped KSL Cars and found some '90s-era Mustangs in good condition and thought, “I’m a Mustang guy. Why am I not going to give away a Mustang?”
Who couldn’t use a free car?
Burlacher said he knows not everyone will be interested in a 30-year-old car. “If people want to participate they can, and if not, no big deal. If five people show up to win the car, great, because I know whoever wins will want it.”
But, he adds, “If I was at a Cars and Coffee and I had the chance to enter to win for free any car, I’d do it. And then if I don’t need it, I’ve got something cool to give to somebody. Or if I do need it, what a boost in life.
“It’s a win-win scenario,” Burlacher said, “whether it’s a teenager that goes to school with it, or a family that sells it to buy groceries for a few months.”
What is Cars and Coffee?
Even if aren't looking for a new set of wheels, Cars and Coffee is still a great opportunity to see all kinds of cool vehicles and chat with car enthusiasts. You'll often find 1,000 cars or more on display at the monthly event, held on the first Saturday. From Porsches and Subarus to Lamborghinis and Audis, there’s something for everyone. Car owners are on hand to talk shop.
Want to show off your car? No prior registration is required. Simply arrive with your ride and you’ll be directed where to park.

A little help from some friends
Three local companies volunteered to help The Burlacher get the car cleaned up for the new owner. “Even though we didn’t have a big budget, I still wanted them to have a car that has as good a chance as possible to have a long life with the new owner,” Burlacher said.
Mechanics at 218 Automotive in Bluffdale gave the Mustang an overall inspection, replaced the power steering pump and installed a new AC compressor. And they threw in an oil change for good measure. Fix Auto, in Provo, added a fresh coat of paint.
Throttle Therapy Club donated “much needed wheels and tires to give the car a little more respect on the road and safe miles,” Burlacher said. The car also comes with some impressive subwoofers.
“The whole car has a really banging sound system, especially for the car. I selfishly almost kept the subwoofers, and then I was like, ‘aww, that’s kind of the party trick of the car,’ so I left them. But I did want to keep them,” he said.
While the car has been inspected, “We cannot guarantee or warranty the car or repairs,” Burlacher said. “But the car appears to be solid and sound, and we hope/expect it to have a good life ahead.”
More to give
If all goes well with this car giveaway, it may not be the last. “I’m hoping to be able to do this again,” Burlacher said. “If I do it again, they might be more practical vehicles that could maybe help a family a little bit more. But for the first one, I thought this would be a little more fun.”
Join The Burlacher and KSL on Saturday for your chance to win. And just like the local YouTuber, you can shop for your next ride on KSL Cars.
