For sale is my 1980 Volvo 244

Featuring the B21F engine with Bosch K-Jetronic CIS mated to an m46 manual transmission (4-speed overdrive). This car has low miles for the age and is in reasonably good shape. There are some paint issues and surface rust in a few spots, but the car has no substantial rot anywhere.

I’ve owned this car since June 2020 when it had 174000 miles. It now has 186700 miles.

This car has been a great weekend driver and cruiser. It reliably got me to and from New Hampshire to Michigan during grad school. I shipped it to New Mexico in 2021 and have had it out west and in a garage since.

This car is old and it has a few quirks but it is remarkably solid for its age. Since owning it, the following maintenance has been performed:

• Head Gasket (June 2020), including head cleaning, resurfacing, and pressure testing.
• Timing belt and water pump (June 2020)
• Coolant hoses replaced throughout engine
• Distributor, rotor, plugs, wires
• KJET system cleaned as much as I could
• Most vacuum lines replaced
• New suspension arms, bushings, shocks (all 4 corners)
• new alternator
• Power steering pump rebuilt in 2024
• Standard fluid changes on interval

Other bits:

The tires are dated 2021 but have spent most of that time in a garage. The AC has been ripped out, and the power steering pump is currently not hooked up (though full of fluid with new hoses). The rear driver door does not open from the outside though I do have a replacement outer handle. The dash is cracked from age and I do have a cover for it.

Asking $7000. I will entertain reasonable offers or partial/full trades for Miatas or similar.
