The time has come to part with my beloved 4th Gen 4Runner. I have absolutely loved this vehicle. I've owned it for about 9 years and have always kept up with routine and preventative maintenance.
Recently completed a professional tuneup - replaced all fluids (transmission, coolant, brake, power steering, differential), replaced spark plugs, replaced AC condenser and coolant line, and replaced the spare tire with a brand new one.
I have made several upgrades and quality of life improvements, including:
Bilstein 5100 shocks (provides 2.75" lift)
33" BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires
Katzkin leather seats
Ceramic window tint on all 4 doors and tailgate
Pioneer head unit w/ Apple CarPlay
Integrated backup camera
XenonPro HID projector headlights
The only issues I've had over all these years were minor things such as a window switch and climate thermometer going out, which I promptly had replaced. Aside from that, every now and then the engine light will come on with an EVAP code (4th gens are notorious for this) but then goes away. I had my mechanic check everything out (charcoal assembly, hoses/valves, etc) and everything seemed fine. He said most commonly it's the gas cap that triggers the sensors and throws the code, so I've been keeping my eye on it.
